The Hachi-jinja Srine (八神社)is one of the most traditional Shinto(神道)shrines in Japan.It was established about 1200 ago,in the HEIAN period(806AD).
Hachi of Hachi-jinja means eight in Japanese,because the Shrine honors these following eight Gods;
Takamimusubi-no-kami(高御産日神)Kamimusubi-no-kami(神産日神)Ikumusubi-no-kami(生産日神)Tarumusubi-no-kami(足産日神)Tamatsumemusubi-no-kami(玉積産日神)Omiyame(大宮売)Miketsu-kami(御食津神)Kotoshironushi-no-kami(事代主神)
These Gods are mentioned at the beginning of "KOJIKI,(古事記)"a mythological chronology as well as"NIHON-SHOKI(日本書紀),"a historical chronicle.
